Roman legions, gladiators, and ancient Rome
This subject catalog includes King & Country, Thomas Gunn, First Legion. Each card identifies its maker. Match the manufacturer and full model number together: different makers reuse ROM numbers, and suffixes can identify different shield or unit variants.
Romans draws on the military and civic world of ancient Rome. The series usually includes legionaries, imperial figures, gladiators, and other iconic subjects connected to Roman history.
Collector identification guide
This subject catalog retains King & Country, First Legion and Thomas Gunn releases. Their ROM prefixes overlap. Use the manufacturer and complete code together; a nearby number or a matching Roman uniform cannot establish that two records are the same product.
King & Country ROM001 is The Legate, described with a mounted commander. Thomas Gunn ROM001B is a front-rank legionnaire with lowered pilum and the black-shield variant described by its source. The B suffix here does not identify a variation of King & Country’s mounted Legate. Keep the maker attached to every search and price comparison.
The ROM003A and ROM003C dealer titles distinguish red- and black-shield versions of the left-looking legionnaire. Retain the suffix and compare the shield face in the seller’s photographs. Edition claims and packaging descriptions belong to their specific source; they do not certify the contents or condition of a second-hand offer.
The late Roman references distinguish ROM236’s centurion, ROM237’s standard bearer and ROM238’s spear-equipped legionary. Use the command role and equipment together. Before building a formation with other makers’ figures, check actual heights, base dimensions and finish; a shared historical subject does not guarantee a visual match.
Prepared by Operation ToyBox from release titles and linked dealer reference descriptions, editorial notes updated 2026-09-17. Open each reference for its individual evidence and review date. These are identification comparisons, not hands-on condition reports. Open each record for its source and verify the actual specimen before purchase.

Every card includes the manufacturer, set code, title, recorded retirement status, catalog count, and type. That makes the page useful as a quick identification guide when matching eBay listings, checking old dealer references, or comparing similar sets from the same series.
Collectors usually start here to verify whether a listing belongs to the Romans line, check the recorded contents, and distinguish catalog status from current availability before moving into live price and listing research.
