What the DD001 catalog records
Use the manufacturer King & Country together with model number DD001, not only the figure description, to distinguish this release from similarly named D-Day sets. The catalog records 4 pieces for “Four 101st Airborne Troopers in Action.” Check whether that number represents individual figures or a packaged release before assessing completeness.

Identifying DD001
DD001 and DD002 are different four-figure sets
DD001 is cataloged as four 101st Airborne troopers. DD002 combines three Rangers with a 29th Infantry corporal. A listing described only as “four American D-Day soldiers” does not distinguish them. Ask for the code on the box and a photograph of every figure together; a reused box alone cannot establish the contents.
Check the group, not just the total
Four figures is the recorded group size, not a guarantee that four loose figures form DD001. Compare each pose with the reference photograph. A duplicate or a substituted figure can leave the count correct while the group is incomplete. The catalog does not establish the paint condition or repairs of the example being sold.
Combining releases changes the comparison
A seller may bundle DD001 and DD002. Record that as two releases and compare it with the cost of acquiring both groups, including shipping. Do not treat the bundle price as the asking price of DD001 alone, or assume that dividing by eight values each release fairly.
Because this catalog entry is retired, availability may be intermittent and asking prices can vary substantially between sellers. When comparing DD001 Four 101st Airborne Troopers in Action listings, compare the photographed contents with the source record, then compare paint condition, repairs, original packaging, and delivered price.

Catalog counts may describe a packaged set rather than every separate part; confirm the original contents in the source record. Retirement status does not establish rarity or market value.
